Lowering blood pressure
Research has suggested that eating beets, or drinking beet juice, may benefit people with high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a common condition among people with diabetes, and particularly type 2 diabetes. The blood pressure-lowering effect is caused by the presence of nitrates in beet juice. These nitrates improve the ability of blood vessels to widen, improving blood flow.
Reducing nerve damage
A 2012 review of published studies also suggest that alpha-lipoic acid, an antioxidant found in beets, may help reduce the nerve damage that can occur in patients with diabetes. But the benefits may be limited to injections of alpha-lipoic acid. "It is unclear if the significant improvements seen with the oral administration of alpha-lipoic acid are clinically relevant," the researchers write in the International Journal of Endocrinology.
Improving exercise performance
Research has also suggested that drinking beet juice may improve the ability of muscles to take up oxygen during exercise and improve exercise tolerance. Exercise helps reduce the risk and slow the progression of heart disease and other cardiovascular disorders. This particularly benefits people with diabetes as they are at a high risk of such conditions.
Beetroot Pro is also for dialysis patients
High blood pressure is a common complication of kidney disease. It does not only cause further damage to the kidneys but also increases your risk of heart failure. Besides medications, you can drink moderate beetroot juice. One study found that it is helpful to lower blood pressure.
Beetroot helps you cleanse the body
The kidney is a blood detoxification organ. When kidney disease affects their ability to cleanse waste, waste products build up in the blood. But kidney is not the only organ to filter the waste. The liver is also one. Beetroots are a wonderful tonic for the liver, which works as a purifier for the blood.
Beetroot helps you manage blood sugar level
Diabetes is a leading cause of kidney disease. Alpha-lipoic acid, an antioxidant in beetroot, has been shown to lower glucose levels, increase insulin sensitivity and prevent oxidative stress-induced changes so as to help you fight against diabetes.
Other health benefits of beetroot
It also helps lower cholesterol level, blocks blood clotting, improve anemia, etc. Those functions are all good for kidney patients.
Beetroot Pro is for Triathletes
Researchers show some benefits of Beet Juice, these are the following:
Cyclists who drank Beet Juice increased the time to exhaustion by a massive 16% and were able to complete the same work with 19% less oxygen. Beet juice improved performance (1-3 percent) and power output in 4km, 16km, and 10km cycling time trials. For perspective, if you run a 5 km in 20 minutes, a two percent improvement is 19:36 – impressive!
In walkers and runners, beet juice reduced the oxygen cost of walking and moderate and intense running and increased time to exhaustion. Runners who ate baked beets before running a 5km time trial ran faster (and the last 1.8 km five percent faster), and had a lower rate of perceived exertion during the first part of the run. Trained divers could hold their breath almost half-a-minute longer if they drank beet juice before their dive. In well-trained rowers, beet juice improved times for a set of 6 x 500m repetitions, especially the later repetitions.
The reason for that is because beets are very high in nitrates. Nitrates are converted by your body into nitric oxide. When sufficient amounts of nitrates are consumed, the nitric oxide boost in your body results in vasodilation for up to 6 hours. Vasodilation is a relaxing and opening of blood vessels that allow for increased oxygen and nutrient delivery to muscles and more efficient removal of catabolic waste products that cause fatigue like ammonia and lactic acid. In short, the higher your natural nitrate intake, the better your muscles will perform and the faster they will recover. Almost nothing compares to beet juice when it comes to improving endurance!
